Agricultural Law

Pavese Law Firm’s close ties to the agricultural community uniquely position the firm to serve the legal, business and political needs of its agricultural clients. We provide a range of services to small family growers, multi-generational farmers and agribusiness from implementation of future agricultural plans to protecting existing agricultural resources.

In the regulatory environment, we work closely with the Florida Department of Agricultural Services, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the water management districts, including South Florida Water Management District, St. Johns River Water Management District and South West Florida Water Management District on permitting and rulemaking programs which affect the ability to maximize the productivity of farmland. Our land use attorneys help maintain and enhance the value of farmland by achieving beneficial planning and legislative changes and by staying apprised of local planning efforts in order to alert our clients to changes that can adversely affect their lands.

We also provide representation to agricultural landowners receiving unfavorable treatment by their local property appraiser under Florida’s Greenbelt laws and we have a great deal of familiarity in working with Florida’s Rural Lands Stewardship Area Program to protect the rich cultural heritage of agricultural lands.

The attorneys at Pavese Law Firm also recognize the important role that agriculture and agricultural law has played in Florida’s history and we take great pride in helping to keep it part of Florida’s future through our representation of many of Florida multi-generational agricultural families. Our Real Estate Department has significant experience in the acquisition and disposition of agricultural land, as well as negotiating a variety of lease arrangements including crop leases and cattle leases. Our attorneys often counsel agricultural clients on business administration, family partnerships and estate planning for farming families.
