Pavese Law Firm Partners Named 2017 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Pavese Law Firm is proud to announce partners William T. Haverfield, Diane L. Jensen, Neale Montgomery and Christopher J. Shields have been named to the esteemed 2017 Super Lawyers list of top attorneys in Florida. This honor is bestowed upon no more than five percent of attorneys statewide. In addition, Brooke Martinez and Charles B. Capps have been named to the Rising Stars list as top up-and-coming attorneys. This is the fifth appearance on the Rising Stars list for Martinez, and the second for Capps, respectively. Each year, only 2.5 percent of lawyers in Florida receive this prestigious acknowledgement.

Haverfield joined the firm in 1969 and served as managing partner from 1990 until 2011. He has been board certified in Marital and Family Law since 1985 and focuses his practice in the area of family law, particularly on original dissolution of marriage proceedings. He has substantial experience in complex marital litigation, including business valuations and real estate appraisal issues related to dissolution of marriage. Haverfield has tried a wide variety of civil cases and was certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by the Florida Bar from 1983 to 1999.

Jensen joined Pavese Law Firm in 1973 and became a partner in the firm in 1978. Her practice areas include bankruptcy, real estate and estate planning and probate. She is a member and past chair of the Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professionals Association. She is one of three trustees in the Fort Myers division of the Middle District to be appointed by the Federal Bankruptcy Court.

Montgomery joined the firm in 1986 and became a partner in the firm in 1991. Her practice areas are land use, zoning, local government, environmental, water, and real estate law. Montgomery is involved with real estate development and permitting issues at the local, regional, state and federal level.  Montgomery  serves on the SFWMD Water Resource Advisory Commission, Tiger Bay Board, and the Lee County Building Industry Association Government Affairs Committee.

Shields joined Pavese Law Firm in 1984 and became a partner in the firm in 1990. He is a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate lawyer and his primary area of focus is residential and commercial condominium, cooperative, and homeowners association law. Shields provides legal counsel to numerous community associations as well as developers, builders, and lenders throughout Southwest Florida.

Martinez joined the firm in May 2005 and became a partner in 2014. Martinez focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation, including disputes pertaining to leases, guarantees, real estate contracts, construction lien law, condominium and homeowners association law and bankruptcy creditor representation.

Capps joined Pavese Law Firm in 2008 and became a partner in the firm in 2014. He is a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Lawyer primarily focusing his practice in the areas of real estate property law including development, commercial and residential transactions, title insurance, condominium and homeowners association law, and banking and finance.

All of whom have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The multi-phased selection process is rigorous and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Once complete, the list and profiles of selected attorneys are featured in Super Lawyers magazine, which is distributed to attorneys statewide and in ABA-accredited law school libraries. Super Lawyers is also published in regional publications across the country.
