Christina Harris Schwinn honored by Junior Achievement with Lifetime Achievement Award
Pavese Law Firm is please to announce that Christina Harris Schwinn, Partner received Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida, Inc.’s Lifetime Achievement Award for 2015-2016. Ms. Schwinn, who once served as president for the Junior Achievement (JA) “company” established at her high school, now serves as a JA volunteer and member of the board of directors.
Schwinn is serving a three-year term on the Junior Achievement board which manages the business, property, and affairs of the organization with the responsibility and authority to determine operating policies and practices. For the past few years, Schwinn has taught legal basics to high school students attending the annual JA CEO Academy held in partnership with the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University.
“My experience as a JA student was life changing and sparked my early interest in business law, as well as my passion for giving back,” said Schwinn. “Our youth need a basic understanding of financial and business principles in order to be successful in life. I’m humbled to receive this award, but most importantly, as a volunteer, I’m able to help students along the road to financial literacy by creating hands-on, real life business experiences. They are learning relevant information that will help direct their decision-making process throughout their lives. Helping students in JA is the most rewarding volunteer experience I’ve ever had.”
Last year, Schwinn and her husband Jim participated in JA’s “Over the Edge” urban adventure fundraiser for Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida. Schwinn and other participants raised at least $1,000 per person for the chance to rappel down the side of the 18-story Naples Grande.
“Christina goes to great lengths to demonstrate her support for education, entrepreneurship and JA, and this is a well-deserved honor,” said Charles Man, managing partner at Pavese Law Firm. “Christina continues to raise the bar for giving back to the community and sets a great example for our partners, associates and the entire business community.”
Schwinn’s primary practice areas are employment law, business transactions, community association law and real estate law. Schwinn is an accomplished public speaker and regularly writes articles that have been published both locally and nationally in a variety of publications.
