Partners Recognized as Florida Trend’s 2019 Legal Elite
Attorneys Christopher J. Shields and Chené M. Thompson have been recognized in the 2019 edition of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite. This is Shields’ sixth year named in the legal elite category. The list of honorees, published in the July issue of Florida Trend magazine, includes fewer than 1.2% of active Florida Bar members who have been acknowledged by their peers for exemplifying a professional standard of excellence.
In preparing the prestigious list, Florida Trend invited all actively practicing Florida attorneys to name private practice, government and nonprofit sector attorneys, whom they hold in the highest professional regard. Florida Legal Elite has served as a go-to resource of trusted legal partners who can advise on any number of involved business concerns. The guide offers the public peace of mind when selecting legal counsel by highlighting the most outstanding attorneys who have earned the esteemed respect of their colleagues and peers in their respective practice areas.
Shields joined Pavese Law Firm in 1984 and became a partner in the firm in 1990. He is Florida Bar Board Certified in Condominium and Planned Development Law and Real Estate Law. Shields is one of only 21 attorneys in the entire state of Florida to hold this dual distinction. He specializes in creating and representing residential, commercial and mixed-use condominium, cooperative and homeowners association communities.
Thompson joined Pavese Law Firm in 2013, and became a partner in the Firm in 2015. As a civil trial attorney, her practice focuses primarily on litigation related to Real Estate, Land Use, Zoning, Business, and Condominium and Homeowners Association Law.
